Meet our 2021 Harman Hero Giveaway Winner: Trevor Greene

At Harman, we look forward to honoring the helpers – who work tirelessly and often without recognition – during our Harman Stoves National Hero Giveaway. Each year in November, we call out to nominate a hero who serves the front lines of our country’s communities: military members, first responders, police officers, firefighters, doctors, nurses, and school workers.

This year, multiple individuals who selflessly serve our country were nominated for the giveaway to receive a Harman Stove. While the choice was difficult, New Hampshire-based first responder Trevor Greene was selected as the 2021 winner.

Trevor's enduring sacrifice to the community's greater good is what made him stand apart from the crowd. And it wasn't just one person who agreed. He received multiple nominations from his wife and other individuals for his selfless acts of service spanning decades.

More about Trevor Greene

Trevor is currently a firefighter/paramedic at Laconia Fire Department in New Hampshire as well as a Huggins Emergency Room employee. He has a longstanding record of service as a member of Stewart's Ambulance Service, Henniker Fire-Rescue, Moultonborough Fire and Rescue, and the Sandwich Fire Department.

"Trevor grew up around the fire service and has always had a passion for helping people," says wife Hollie Greene – who is also a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. "He grew up spending time with his dad and grandfather, who was the chief of the Sandwich, N.H. fire department for 28 years. In fact, his grandfather played a huge part in developing the Mutual Aid System and Dispatch Center in New Hampshire."

While he has big shoes to fill coming from a legacy that he does, it is innate for Trevor to lend a helping hand – on and off of work. "Trevor is the father of two boys and is the most hardworking man I know," remarks Hollie.

The Journey to Receiving the Gifted Stove

Fireside Living, located in Laconia, N.H., donated their time and service to installing a new XXV-TC Pellet Stove in the Greene home. As part of the Giveaway, Trevor also received one ton of Cleanfire wood pellets from Lignetics to fuel the stove and venting pipe from DuraVent.

The installation comes at the perfect time – shortly after the Greene's moved into a new home. They chose to put the stove in their living room/kitchen area to warm their main living space during the cold northeastern winters.

The Greene’s added a little flair surrounding their new stove with a custom stone and brick hearth and mantle installed by a fellow Laconia firefighter/emergency medical technician. "We look forward to hanging stockings here next Christmas," says Hollie.

Celebrating Heroes like Trevor

"Trevor is a shining example of what being a local hero is all about," said Karen Smeltz of Harman Stoves. "We're honored to recognize his outstanding and selfless contributions to the Laconia and greater New Hampshire community."

Each year, the response for the Harman Stoves National Hero Giveaway is overwhelming – and we're honored to continue to impact the lives of the selected brave and selfless front-line heroes each year.

We're filled with pride as we return warmth and happiness to deserving Harman Stoves National Hero Giveaway recipients. It's moments like congratulating Greene and his family that re-inspire us to produce great products that warm the hearts and homes of families throughout the country.
